Resources » Protective Action Guides and Planning Guidance for Radiological Incidents

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has developed this manual to assist public officials in planning for emergency response to radiological incidents. This Manual provides recommended numerical protective action guides (PAGs) for the principal protective actions available to public officials during a radiological incident. A PAG is defined for the purposes of this document as the projected dose to an individual from a release of radioactive material at which a specific protective action to reduce or avoid that dose is recommended.

This January 2017 version supersedes the 1992, 2013, and 2016 PAG Manuals.
